U11-U14 Spring Development League

Over the last few seasons there has been a need to form a more competitive and development oriented spring program for our U11-16 players. Many of our “rep” level players work hard through the fall/winter and make great progress. Our aim now needs to be to continue their progress through the spring months .

Chilliwack FC’s  5v5 Spring Development League includes weekly staff coach training sessions and weeknight games in Chilliwack running from early April to late June. The 5v5 format will allow for maximum touches on the ball for each player in game play. It also allows us to form more teams.

DOB for the 2020 Spring Development League is 2004 – 2009

  • The fee for the 12 week program is $200.00
  • This will include weekly games, weekly staff coach training, kit and league costs
  • The program will run from early April till late June

Early bird registration ends February 15 at midnight, after February 15 any players added will be charged a $50 late fee.

Spring Development League Overview

PURPOSE:  To provide a more competitive and development oriented spring playing opportunity for our U11-14 age group boys and girls, yet maintaining a level of fun that players are accustomed to in our spring programming.

FORMAT:  Registered players will be placed onto teams. There will be a focus on balancing the teams as evenly as possible and I will be hoping for your help in achieving that when the time comes. They will train in a group, academy type environment once per week and then play matches once per week.

AGE GROUPS:  U11 (2009) U12 (2008) U13 (2007) U14 (2006) Boys & Girls. Registration numbers will dictate whether we will move forward with every age group.

PLAYER ACCEPTANCE:  All players that were registered on a Development team for the fall 2019/20 season are eligible to play. The league is also open to players not registered on a fall development team. These players must first participate in a skill test and achieve a minimum score in order to be accepted into the league.

TEAM MAKE UP:  Players will be placed on to teams of 7/8 players. Teams will be balanced as best as possible. Age groups will be combined as follows… U11/12, U13/14 and U15/16. The U15/16 age group will operate as Co-Ed if numbers allow for separate groups.

TRAINING: Training sessions will be 75 mins in length and focus on maintaining skills developed over the winter season with more emphasis on technical rather than tactical. Sessions will be overseen by CFC staff coaches with assistance from team coaches.

GAMES: Games will be 5v5 format, played with 2 x 30 min halves.

LOCATION:  TBD. Training and games expected to be on grass fields. Field dimensions and net sizes to be compliant with CSA LTPD standards.

– At this time we can not confirm game nights or training nights/times.

FEE: $200 for the season.
– Includes 12 training sessions with CFC staff coach, 12 games, kit, referee’s, facilities rentals etc.
