The Chilliwack FC U13 Boys Attack traveled to Vernon BC this past week to take part in the BC Soccer Les Sinnott Memorial Boys Provincial Cup tournament.

The boys opened the tournament on July 6th with a 3-2 win over Kamloops followed by a 5-1 win over Prince George on the 7th. On Saturday afternoon the boys faced the hometown team from Vernon and came out on top with a 1-0 win advancing them to the final game on Sunday to decide first and second place in the province.

Sunday’s final kicked-off under the relentless Vernon sun at noon against Saanich Fusion. Saanich pulled ahead in the first half and held on to a 1 goal lead until half-time. Chilliwack came out strong at the start of the second half and was able to tie it up with a goal by mid-fielder Roland Mansell. With only a few minutes remaining and looking like the game would be decided in extra time, Saanich scored off a free-kick and held on to win 2-1.

Chilliwack FC is very proud of the team’s accomplishments in this tournament and throughout the season! 2nd place in the Province is a huge achievement.

Congratulations to the entire team along with coaches Ernie Victor and Rob Brown on an extraordinary season!
