April 8 – Chilliwack FC Spring Programming Update

Dear Chilliwack FC Members,

Firstly, on behalf of Chilliwack FC we would like to extend our thanks to all the frontline workers and their families that are making sacrifices daily on behalf of all of us, your dedication to our well-being is appreciated and does not go unnoticed. This certainly has not been an easy time for any of us and as well adjust to what is for now our new normal, the Chilliwack FC Executive has been in constant communication with each other planning next steps.  We’ve also been in touch with other sports organizations throughout the Lower Mainland, comparing notes on all facets of how we operate now and what our operation may look like in the future. I can assure you that we collectively monitor every update the province has for us and pray that with each update that we get a glimmer of hope of when we can get back on the field. However, as you know there is still a great deal of uncertainty as to when all the orders will be lifted and we can get back on the field.

With so much uncertainty still facing us, the Chilliwack FC Executive has made the extremely difficult and unprecedented decision to cancel the spring soccer season. With the cancellation of the season comes much work in behind the scenes to get all of you your funds back. To address the many ways your funds can be handled, the Chilliwack FC Executive has decided to give you the following options:

              1. Credit your Spring 2020 funds to the Fall 2020-21 Season
              2. Credit your Spring 2020 funds to the Spring 2021 Season
              3. Refund your Spring 2020 funds to you via e-transfer/cheque.

If you choose to have your Spring 2020 funds refunded to you, please note, we cannot return it to a credit card, anyone who chooses option 3 will be paid via e-transfer/cheque. If you choose option 1 or 2 and then decide at a later date that your child no longer wishes to play or there is some other conflict that comes up, no refund will be given. To help the Chilliwack FC Executive, and more importantly our Treasurer, we have created the following survey which will collect all your data and how you would like your funds handled. You must use this survey to tell us how you want your funds handled. We will not be accepting emails that provide direction as we can quickly lose track of all of your requests as the sheer volume will be very overwhelming. The survey must be completed in its entirety with your most accurate and up to date contact information. We will cross reference your data to our spring soccer registration database.  We thank you in advance for your patience as we enter into the next phase of this process. Please know, the refund/credit process will be time consuming and challenging, they will not happen overnight. Please do not think that because you filled the survey out on Monday your cheque will be ready on Tuesday. We will communicate with you when the refunds are ready.

As we mentioned last week, once we are allowed back on the fields, we hope to offer programming that will extend into the summer and help give your child(ren) their much-needed soccer fix. Please keep an eye on our social media and our website for more information on those programs when it comes available.
