Eager to see its young players back in action, playing the game they love as soon as safely possible, Chilliwack FC has revealed the first phase of soccer programming, Return to Train camps, beginning July 4, 2020.
The focus of the first phase Return to Train camp is encouraging players to return to the field and keep active this summer while learning ball mastery, passing and receiving. Players will practice in their own designated space marked out by cones with sessions conducted by Chilliwack FC staff, assisted by age group coaches. The four-week camp will welcome players from U5-U18 age groups.
“We are thrilled to be able to get our young players back out on the field,” Chilliwack FC technical director Glenn Wilson said. “Things might look a bit different for awhile but we will aim to reignite their passion for the game in a fun and positive environment.”
The return to play must adhere to both provincial health as well as provincial and national soccer association guidelines. Timing of progressions from one phase to the next will be dictated by those authorities.
New guidelines included in a COVID-19 Return to Play policy approved by the Chilliwack FC Executive, including player hygiene, equipment sanitization, and physical distancing, will be strictly enforced.
Camp registration is available now. If you wish to use an existing credit from the cancelled Spring Soccer season or prior, you must register with Liz, our office administrator, by emailing info@chilliwackfc.com or calling (604) 792-0090.
Parents and participants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Return to Play policy and Phase One action plan available online prior to registering at https://chilliwackfc.com/return-to-play/
