Spring Soccer Registration Now Open

December 12, 2020

Dear Chilliwack FC Family,

The Executive is fully aware that this fall season has been nothing short of frustrating and confusing with the Provincial Health Orders changing causing us all to pivot, change, and adapt to keep the kids on the field. The Executive has felt all of your pain and frustration, perhaps even more as we navigated through the changes that are designed to keep all of us safe and healthy, which is ultimately our first priority.

With the vaccine now days away from being available and words of hope from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Henry that there is light at what seems to be the longest tunnel in the world, the Chilliwack FC Executive is ready to open registration for our Spring 2021 season. However, it is going to have a different approach than what we’re all used to.  Even with the glimmer of the light at the end of the tunnel we know that many of you (and some of us) are hesitant to even think about registering let alone putting money towards something that we all know has no guarantee of happening. And while we believe there will be a spring season, there is always that nagging little voice saying in the back of our minds saying maybe there won’t be.

Erring on the side of caution, Chilliwack FC has set up the spring registration with a payment plan for all programs offered.  When you register for any of our spring programs your first payment will be zero (0) dollars, with the balance due on February 20, 2021. By registering today, you are securing your spot and by the time February 20 rolls around we will have a better idea of what the season may or may not look like. This also allows us the flexibility to move the balance due date if need be. In our opinion, this is a win/win for us all, you register and secure your spot and for us if the season doesn’t happen, we don’t have to worry about refunds unless something drastic happens that shuts things down after we get going. We hope that this approach meets your approval and needs as well as calms any anxiety and fears you may have about the spring season not going ahead or constantly being affected by Provincial Health Orders.

In closing, on behalf of the Chilliwack FC Executive, I’d like to thank you all for your patience and understanding as we maneuvered our way through the first half of the fall season. The words of encouragement have meant a lot to us as have the words of frustration as they too give an opportunity to pause and find ways to become better and improve your experience with us.

We wish you all a safe and healthy holiday season and prosperous New Year.

Respectfully,

Andrea Laycock

Chairperson
