The Small Sided Referee Clinic teaches the basics of soccer refereeing and it is offered to individuals who are no less than 12 years of age. Once an individual is successful in passing this clinic, they are classified as a Small Sided Referee and they can officiate in matches up to the Under-12 age group.
The updated delivery of the 2021 Small Sided Referee clinic will focus on the latest Small Sided Rules teaching materials, and delivery of the clinic has been revised to consist of:
1. Online theory component: Two 2-hour scheduled webinar (zoom) sessions, with an online exam, followed by;
2. On-field practical component: One 2-hour on-field session – not currently available, to be determined once Provincial Health restrictions have been progressively loosened and/or on-field practical sessions are permitted. Please note that a FOX 40 (pealess) whistle will be required for each student attending Small Sided practical sessions.
Pre-requisite: Minimum 12 Years old
Clinic Length: 6 hours (4 online plus 2 on-field TBA)
Online Learning Dates: Friday, June 11 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm and Sunday, June 13 from 10am -12pm
