November 21, 2021
Hello Chilliwack FC families,
Thank you for your patience as we, like everyone else in our community, worked our way through the challenges brought on by the recent weather systems. Closing down was not an easy decision to make but necessary as safety is paramount for us.
We are pleased to announce that all soccer activity will resume starting Monday, November 22. There are no changes to training schedules for the week.
Mini-ball games that were moved from November 13 to training nights will go ahead this week.
As you know, Chilliwack is still a bit of an island with only one route in and out via Highway 7 through Agassiz. There has been no clear indication when Highway 1 will open up which could impact games for our U11-U18 teams. What we do know is our mini-ball games will go ahead next weekend as scheduled and, if travel continues to be restricted, we will schedule internal games for our U11-U18 teams. We ask that those of you with child(ren) in the U11-U18 bracket please be patient with us as we work through this week’s challenges travel may impose on us with the leagues. It is not just about us getting to games, it is about opponents coming to us too, and safety for all must be our first and only concern.
To the families impacted by the landslides and flooding, our hearts go out to you. Please know your Chilliwack FC family is here for you.
We look forward to seeing you all back on the field!
On behalf of the Chilliwack FC Executive respectfully,
Andrea Laycock
Chilliwack FC Chairperson
