U11-U18 Development Program

Our Development Program is geared towards players interested at playing at more competitive level. Player evaluations are held each spring and tiered teams are created. Typically development teams train twice weekly with a game on the weekend.

Starting at the U11 age group all teams are entered in the various leagues throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland and will travel out of Chilliwack for away games. U11’s and U12’s play 8-a-side on a smaller “Super 8” sized field with smaller goals. Once players reach the U13 age group they jump up to full-field soccer and play 11-a-side.

Registration is now open for those players selected in the Evaluations held earlier this Spring. Further information has been distributed via email.

U8 Prospects Academy

From age groups U4 to U7 our young soccer players play in a number of recreational programs that our club offers. As players enter the U8 age group they are provided the option of participating in our Prospects Academy. This program is geared more towards their development and the practices have a more structured look to them. The sessions take place once weekly and are run by CFC Staff Coaches with an emphasis on development all the basic fundamentals such as passing, receiving, dribbling, turning and shooting. The goal being to develop young players who are comfortable and confident with the ball at their feet.

While they do not play in weekend games, our U8 Prospects players may often get the opportunity to play in exhibition matches against U8 teams from our partner clubs in the Fraser Valley. U8 Players are also permitted to register in our club’s recreational program to allow for a second weekly practice with their team and weekend games. The programs are set up so that they do not conflict with each other. The recreational program runs September to late November. The Prospects Academy also starts in September and continues until the end of February.

U9/10 Prospects Program

The Prospects program is geared towards boys and girls who aspire to play at a high level. While keeping the sessions fun, our staff encourage players to be focused and eager to learn. Players are evaluated regularly by staff to determine their suitability to the program. Attendance is taken at each Prospects session to ensure that players are committed to their development by attending regularly. The U9/10 Prospects Program is tiered to provide 2 levels of participation. All players that aspire to participating in Prospects are welcomed into the program. Here is an outline of the two levels of programming:

PROSPECTS TEAM PROGRAM – In this program players will practice twice weekly through the fall and winter from September to March. One session per week is with CFC Staff Coaches and one session is with their respective team coach. In addition they will play regular weekend games against similar programs among our partner clubs in the Fraser Valley. Players will be selected to the Team program from those registered based on their current level of play.

PROSPECTS ACADEMY PROGRAM –  This program is provided for those that are relatively new to Prospects or who are not quite there yet in terms of their playing standard. Rather than place them in a competitive team environment, these players will work once per week with CFC Staff Coaches to sharpen the technical aspects of their game and their overall athleticism. The goal being to progress these players into the Team Program when they are ready. Players participating in the Academy program are encouraged to register for a CFC Fall Recreational team to provide them an additional weekly practice and a weekend game for their respective team.

Both the Team program and the Academy program run from September to March.
