Chilliwack FC has decided to provide this program INDOORS because it provides variety to our players. We want our young players to be excited to try new things and to be able to develop in different ways. The indoor setting will also help with any weather issues that may arise during the program dates.

NOTE: athletes will need to wear indoor soccer cleats or running shoes, no field cleats on gym floors.

Chilliwack FC Ice Breaker Program! This program is specific to our U7/U8 and U9/U10 Grassroots players that want more training and more games during the Winter season!

The Ice Breaker Program will be a training program during the week combined with Futsal style games on Saturdays. Training sessions will be run based on small space activities (1v1, 2v2, dribbling, and mini games).

NEW!!! Chilliwack FC – Ice Breaker Mini  for U5/U6 players. This program is specific to our young, up and coming soccer stars!

The program will run ONCE a week on Saturday mornings and will be an INDOOR game day approach. Players will begin with a short and FUN warm-up activity and then transition to play mini games for the remainder of the time.

This program will allow for our young soccer stars to continue their development and love for the game!

Futsal is a stye of the game of soccer in which forces players to really focus on their individual abilities on the ball. Futsal encourages players to be creative on the ball, think in tight spaces and move off the ball.

Futsal Focuses:

    • Individual ball skill
    • Manipulating the ball with different parts of the foot
    • Protecting and shielding the ball from opponents
    • Creative thinking on and off the ball
    • Movement off the ball
    • Quick and creative thinking
    • Confidence on the ball
    • Close control of the ball

Why Futsal? Canada Soccer has integrated Futsal into its youth development plan and as a club, Chilliwack FC wants to ensure that it is following the youth development plan of Canada Soccer. Futsal is also a unique and positive way for players to develop their tight control, use of different parts of the foot, and an understanding on how to manipulate the ball in different ways.
